the cut of the skirt is important for the cerro de la cilla skirts. it is a fitted yoke design for the gores. that is what allows the skirts to swing, with the movements. a full circle cut does not adhere to the hips. also... the points of the ribbon design are tricky. last time I made one, I had to rip the ribbon out, and set it corretly - I believe the point part goes NOT on the seam, which would make it easier. hey there!! I hope this helps you out.for children you need about 4 to 4 1/2 yards depending on size. Adults add about 2 yards, all this depends on size of person. it is black ribbon and its about 1 inch wide. Its best if you can get one dress as an example. Good Luck. ------------------

I would like to know how many yards will it take to make a norteno skirt in brown for el cerro de la silla dance? I also want to know if the design of the cerros on it is a ribbon that forms them or material? IP: 206.133.214.186 |
