Mothers Day Weekend
May 9, 10 and 11, 2008
The mission is to increase awareness and promote the traditional and folkloric music and dances of Mexico, Central and South America by providing educational dance programs, public performances and artistic enrichment events to the community.

Fiesta will be held at Logan County Courthouse from 3 to 7 p.m., Saturday -- The cost is free.
Dance will be held at Elks club at 7 to 11 p.m., Saturday -- The cost is $12 for adults, child under 12 are free. Students from the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Folklorico Program perform a traditional Mexican folk dance.
(Note: If there is inclement weather, everything will be at the Elks Lodge across the street.)

Amongst the varied suites dedicated to our mothers is a special flashback to the early 1950s when passion, music, and movement were one in the same.

"Preserving The Mexican Culture Through Song and Dance"
Ballet Folklorico Oro de Mexico of the Porterville area is showcasing its three local high schools who have prepared to display their true talents in song and dance. We will be hosting a Spring Concert entitled "Noche de Folklor" as the cultural event of the year! Doors will open at 6:00pm and the show begins at 7:00pm at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium at 2425 Fresno Street in the city of Fresno on Saturday May 17, 2008. Under the direction of John Gonzales, this 2 hour event will display the beauty and strength of Mexico at its best. For tickets please call (559) 786-9723... Admission for all - $8.00 seating is limited! So come on out and not only support our students but witness an evening of magic!

World City at the W.M. Keck Foundation Children’s Amphitheatre
Celebrating its fifth season, World City is the Music Center’s highly acclaimed free performance series reflecting the rich array of cultures making up the Los Angeles community. In addition to performances, free arts workshops for children are offered in the adjacent Blue Ribbon Garden.
Natividad “Nati” Cano is both a traditionalist and a visionary and has shaped the history of mariachi music and his band, Mariachi Los Camperos, is considered one of the finest mariachi bands in the world. Then, at the Music Center for the first time is Ensambles Ballet Folklorico de San Francisco, performing regional dances of Mexico in a visually stunning show.
